ECG
The Electrocardiogram is done by placing
small electrodes (they look like stickers) on your chest to read the
electrical activity of the heart. The physician will get a printout
that looks like graph paper with spiking lines drawn across it. The
lines represent the electrical conduction of your heart. Physicians
are trained to see abnormalities in the electrical conduction that may
indicate that you have or have had a problem with your heart. Electrocardiograms
can detect problems caused by blocked coronary arteries, heart attacks,
or rhythm abnormalities (arrhytmias.)
